Comprehensive Structural Analysis
This study looks at every part of the tower, including structural members, connections, anchorages, and foundations. If the comprehensive analysis determines the tower to be over capacity, the engineer will recommend tower modifications before changing equipment.

Utilizing our industry-leading software, tnxTOWER, we are able to accurately and efficiently perform structural analyses and foundation designs. The latest CAD systems give our engineers the tools to prepare plot layouts, bills of material, final drawings, and licensing packages.
Tower Mapping (Tower Inventory Assessment, A&E Site Walk, Ground-Based or Elevated)
Tower mapping is required to maximize revenues and to identify structural and maintenance concerns.
An accurate tower mapping is the key to responsible asset management, whether it be required for pre-acquisition, pre–colocation, pre-construction, Tower Mapping is the collection of tower and foundation data that will later define the tower’s capabilities and its revenue stream, and ROI. Without it, asset owners cannot obtain an analysis to identify whether the structure can accommodate another revenue generating tenant or if the tower is presently overloaded. Some mapping requirements will entail identifying all foundations, leg and member sizes in addition to the antennas, mounts, lines and other appurtenances supported by the structure as well as sweep testing. Other requests will just require a Tower Mapping, or TIA Inspection (Tower Inventory Assessment), the field collection of the existing inventory of tenant equipment when assembly and design drawings are not available.
Corrosion Analysis
The lifecycle of our tower infrastructure is nearing, and in some cases surpassed a compromising position for many of our towers across the nation. Many of these structures are at capacity or are over the recommended capacity for tenants and colocation efforts, especially towers from the 80’s, or in costal and volcanic regions with high salt or sulfuric atmospheres.
Typically, when a SA (Structural Analysis) is required, field data on the conditions of the members is also required to be noted and provided. But when the members are compromised with corrosion, rust, delamination, and the concrete anchors have been eroded over time due to acidic rain, we need to analyze the member and the remaining life of that member down to their core.
M1R2’s Corrosion Analysis report provide these analytics required to forecast the remaining lifecycle of the structure or member. A key component and a required understanding needed for an accurate ROI assessment on a potential asset acquisition or investment approach.
Structural Modification Design
Your asset’s Field Data has been collected, your Structure has been Analyzed, and the Corrosion is bountiful throughout your structure…the results are a Failing Structural Analysis preventing further revenue stream for your asset.
M1R2’s engineers will design a Structural Modification that will enhance the structural integrity of the asset and allow extended lifecycle for future tenants.
Foundation Analysis
M1R2 can provided geotechnical studies, construction observation, and foundation design and mapping services on the national level for our communications tower infrastructure. We will design recommendations and modifications including Caissons, Pad & Pier, and Guy-Anchors, straight-shaft and belled drilled piers.
We have provided foundation mapping services for free-standing, monopole, and guyed towers to complete a structural analysis of the tower when original foundation plans were no longer available. Depending on the type of the tower and foundation, more invasive procedures such as civil, backhoe excavations, probes, and foundation cores have been used to determine foundation bearing depth and dimensions.
